Mrs Malone: a student perspective

The impact Mrs. Malone has made on her fellow staff members is very evident, but what about her impact on students? With this being their shared last year at MHS, the Lifesavers senior leaders, as well as many Thespian seniors, had a lot to say about her.

Senior Reece Spainhour said, “Mrs. Malone has had a massive impact on my life. She is a kind-hearted individual, who just wants to see her students succeed. Last year during May We All, I was going through a hard time with family issues, and she was always there to check on me. I was able to talk through my problems with her, and it slowly got better every day.”

He also noted, “I think my favorite memory of Mrs. Malone would definitely be during my freshman year. We were doing the musical We Will Rock You and the stage crew was able to dress up while on stage to move props. Mrs. Malone was also given the opportunity to dress up, and after she put a certain wig on, she was dubbed as Stacy.”

Fellow senior leader, Ethan Courchaine, said, “Mrs. Malone has by far been one of the most impactful people throughout my entire [high school] career, and I honestly don’t think I would be as confident and put together without her help. Throughout my time as a Lifesaver member, and even just a high school student, she has been not only the most courageous and amazing club sponsor, but also an outstanding counselor. There have been many times that I have needed her help figuring things out about class or even something personal, and I could always count on her.”

Brady Ball said, “Mrs. Malone’s legacy is something that’s hard to characterize, but for me I’d say that she has a legacy of kindness that is unmatched at MHS. She has always been an amazing person to everyone, and that is something we will not be able to replace in the future.”

Overall, Mrs. Malone has made herself an irreplaceable member of the MHS staff throughout her years in the building. From helping out with club activities to just being an amazing counselor, Sister Stacy will be missed by all those who got to experience her brilliance.
