The softball team begins the season with a 8-0 record. The Sages are off to a hot start and continue to shock their opponents.

Senior captain Avery Schweitzer is eager for her last year, “We have a strong foundation and I am hopeful for the rest of the season.” Junior captain Sadie Walsh had a different perspective and talked about her experience and connection with her teammates, “As a team, we are bonding very well and are constantly being there for eachother no matter what! I feel like this season has definitely been one of my favorites so far and we have all been making new bonds that we hadn’t formed before.”

Both Walsh and Schweitzer exclaimed their main focus, beating Unity. Walsh said, “I feel like we are able to compete with them the best we have ever been able to and possibly have a chance to beat them, which has been one of our goals for the past couple years.” Schweitzer had similar thoughts, “We’ve always been able to compete with them, but this year I believe we will come out on top if we play to our full potential.”

Regarding goals for her final season, Schweitzer stated, “My goals for this season are to maintain a strong mind and make the best of my last year on the field.” Walsh had goals regarding her personal stats, “Personally, my main goal is to have a good batting average and fielding percentage as well as hopefully get on the all conference team again this year.”

The girls have a double header against the GCMS Falcons on Saturday, April 5th, at home! Show up and support the Sages to another win!
