Coming back from Thanksgiving Break can be hard after having a full week off, especially knowing that Christmas Break is right around the corner. This time can be stressful for students with all the last few tests of quarter two being crammed in, and then, of course, final exams.

However, Thanksgiving Break helped students recharge for these hard three weeks. “My Thanksgiving Break was nice and relaxing because I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to finishing out the semester tough and finishing finals for the final time in high school,” said senior Marissa Aikman.

Other students were just looking to come back to school to spend more time with their friends. “My Thanksgiving Break was very fun and eventful, and I’m looking forward to coming back to school and spending time with my friends in school,” said senior Lane Alexander.

The downside of coming back from Thanksgiving Break was that students started to think about their upcoming finals. Although, seniors tend to have easier finals and know how to approach them better. “I’m not feeling stressed yet since I’ve gone through finals a lot now, and I know how to prepare in a way that sets me up for success, so I don’t feel the stress I once felt,” stated Alexander. “Most of my finals should be pretty easy, but I am stressed for some of them because I know they will be difficult,” shared Aikman.

Most students have that one class they are stressed for or just don’t really want to study for. “I am most stressed about my AP Calculus class because it is difficult and requires a lot of work outside of class,” said Aikman.

Other students just have a hard time studying or just taking the time to study. “If there were to be a class I’d be stressed about for their final, it’d probably be comp since I have a bad habit of procrastinating writing my essays until the last few days. And, the essays usually take a long time to write,” stated Alexander.

While Christmas time is a very exciting time for students, Thanksgiving Break is needed because it makes the final three weeks less stressful and exhausting. Thanksgiving Break gives students a chance to unwind and spend time with friends and family before having to face the long three week span that leads to Christmas Break.
