Let’s take a deeper look into the preparations that students are taking as the prom season slowly approaches.

Commonly, many junior and senior girls begin to do a lot of planning around the January and February months to ensure that their special prom day turns out exactly how they desire.

Senior Emma Juvinall shared, “I’ve been preparing for prom since the beginning of January! I got my dress two weeks ago and just ordered my heels last night!”

She also added, “My favorite part of prom preparation is the process of finding my dress and then deciding what heels, hair, nails, and makeup i’m gonna do. School dances are my favorite for that exact reason!”

When asked about the prom season ramping up, she stated, “I see prom season picking up the pace in my own workplace like crazy. I work at M2, which is a very popular place for prom. When the month of January hits, girls are coming in like crazy to get a dress so they can claim theirs.”

Senior Class Secretary Pyper Burton was asked about the kinds of preparations she must do for the incoming prom season. She stated, “We haven’t done much to begin preparing for prom this year since the senior class is in charge of post prom! For post prom, there isn’t a lot to do other than figuring out where to host it, what prizes to buy, and what parents will work it!”

She went more in depth by saying, “Planning prom can be a little stressful because of how busy all of the class officers are. Each of us are involved in different things, so finding time to meet up and plan can be hard. So, to handle this, we often just stay in the homeroom on Fridays to meet up, or we will communicate via text to make sure everything is planned!”

She ended by expressing, “I enjoy getting to plan prom and post prom because you get to decide on every tiny detail that goes into it all, and getting to see it all come to life on the day of is so rewarding and fun!”

All in all, the incoming prom season begins to cause a stirring of devising plans and ideas for the special day.
