NeeDohs are soft, stretchy, and seemingly perfect to have in the classroom, but are they really so great or just another micro trend teens are hopping on?
Junior Brenna Cuningham said, “NeeDohs are fun but you don’t need more than one.” Lots of teens have been hoping on the trend and purchasing way more than what they actually need or will use. Cunningham also stated, “I think they will all end up broken or smushed and at the bottom of landfills in 5 years, if not 3.” With the huge variety of NeeDohs coming in many shapes and textures, it’s super easy to get caught up in it and buy more than one.
Junior Gemma Vance explained, “Even though they’re really fun, the way trends have been fading in and out just shows that they won’t last”. Again, the over consumerism of our generation is really showing as the trend hopping happens with so many different things like shoes, jackets, and many more. Vance said that Needohs “will be replaced with a ‘newer or cooler’ toy in the future.”
All in all, the over consumption of our generation is a huge problem and more people need to become aware of it. Yes, Needhos are a great too. However, you definitely don’t need more than one or two, because like we have seen with past trends, they end up in landfills or thrift stores within a year.
