Little Sages in full swing

Lots of people love the class at MHS called Child Growth and Development. It’s a great class to take if you plan to go into early education. A unit for this class that has just begun is the preschool!

The preschool is a really cool learning experience for not only the kids but also the students working with the little Sages.

When asked how she was feeling about working in the preschool, Sophmore Lexi Stripens said, “I was nervous that the kid I got wasnt going to like me and throw a tantrum about it, but in the end it was amazing and none of that happened.” Junior Weslee Klink added on to this; “I was nervous about how the daycare was going to work and if I was going to be a good teacher for my kid.”

Although nerves were high, Stripens thought fondly of the actual experience. “My favorite thing is probably getting to do all the fun activities with them and getting to know them as who they are.” Klink agreed, saying, “I love being able to work with my kid and being the person he wants to grow up to be like.”

Stripens spoke candidly about her middle school days. She said, “Looking back, I definitely did not expect to help run a preschool for little kids. But where I am now, I love that it’s a unit in parenting class.” Adding on, Klink said, “I never would’ve seen myself doing these things when I was in middle school. But I’m very glad that I am working at the daycare.”

Although the preschool isn’t a super long unit, the memories made are unforgettable.
