A successful FFA week

The Monticello FFA has always done a great job at making FFA a fun experience. Staff members work hard and diligently all year planning events for everyone to enjoy. FFA week is something all FFA chapters enjoy to celebrate the Future Farmers Of America. Usually it always takes place in February and the week is filled with fun activities and food to get people involved and having fun. During this week, they highlight the importance of agriculture and leadership for the next future workers in agriculture.

FFA week is filled with fun activities and good food. Doing these things can help students learn more about life. Each day is filled with a fun dress-up day, along with something for lunch and a fun activity to follow in homeroom. Although this seems fun and simple, it really does teach the student body life skills to use in the future. Senior Mylin Bruhn stated, “FFA week has helped me grow as a leader by providing activities that I would not normally do. This includes serving the student body breakfast along with participating in fun activities during homeroom. Doing these things has allowed me to grow my leadership skills.”

Being involved in FFA can help a lot with leadership skills. Senior Myling bruhn stated, “I always love serving the student body breakfast. It helps grow my leadership skills, dedication towards the program, and brings me gratitude for the opportunity to serve.” Monticello FFA started planning this weeks in advance. Students worked hard to communicate about ways to get everyone involved and to also have fun at the same time. Senior Julia Gyorr stated, “FFA week takes a lot of planning from our entire officer team. Months in advance, we started planning our dress-up days, homeroom activities, and who was going to be in charge for each activity, so every officer got a chance to be involved. Personally, planning and being responsible for FFA week and many other FFA events has helped teach me many life and communication skills that I can take on to my future career.”

As you can see, FFA works really hard to get people involved. FFA week is way more than fun activities and good food. It is also a good group to join to learn a lot of life skills to bring into your future to help you be successful. FFA week does a really good job at showcasing the heart of FFA and the future of the next generation of agricultural leaders.
