As the end of the hit series, Stranger Things, came to an end on Netflix, many students throughout MHS were devastated.
Junior Ali Weidner had devoted time on Christmas Day with her family to watch the new season as soon as it came out. Weidner said, “[I was] overall satisfied with the ending, but I was going into the ending expecting more characters to die. I wasn’t necessarily disappointed, but more surprised that everyone made it out alive.” Weidner had a lot of emotions about the final episode, mainly being “sad with Eleven’s death, and [hoping] that Mike and Eleven find each other again.” Weidner ended with saying that if she could change the ending of this season, she would add the conspiracy theory. “I really liked the conspiracy theory, which was basically how Mike was in a Vecna trans. The ideal ending would be Eleven being alive.”
Junior Brenley Taber also had a lot to say about the new season after being a devoted fan since the beginning. Taber said, “I was really sad because I liked the whole series, but I’m overall happy and loved it.” Taber shared her thoughts on the final episode; “I think it was very wholesome and although there were a lot of plotholes and a lot of people didn’t like it, I would rather have it end like that than be mad that it was over. It makes everything have a real ending effect.” Taber concluded with her ideal ending of the final season, saying, “I would add more action than there already was. I feel like every single person was waiting for it for so long and nothing really came about it.”
In conclusion, students were overall satisfied with the end of the roller coaster series Stranger Things, as well as Season 5 in specific. Many other students commented that it was a tear-jerker throughout the whole series, but every episode was worth it.
