School has been back in session for about two weeks now. To some, the break benefitted them and made them feel recharged from school. But to others, it drained them even more. It was a very common feeling amongst most that they wanted an even longer break.

Many students would agree that the break let them reset and recharge their mind. Junior Sena Johns exclaimed, “I felt very recharged; this break was definitely needed. I got caught up on some much needed sleep.” Unlike Johns, junior Hunter Barton had a different feeling from break; “I still feel drained even after the break. I was able to get quite a bit of things done over break, but ever since coming back to school, that has changed.”

Junior Parker Ryan felt refreshed from break, but was wishing for a longer one. “I wasn’t ready to come back. I was wanting at least another week of freedom.” He also expressed how the break benefited him, saying, “Having a break from school gave me some time to reset my mind and do what I actually wanted to do.”

Barton mentioned how school has put him in a worse mood, and how he wishes for more free time. “I think coming back to school puts me back into the mood of not wanting to do anything. I just want all of my classes to be over so that I don’t have so much homework each night.”

Overall, winter break gave similar feelings to some, but mixed feelings to others. It was a good reset for the students, but also gave them time to accomplish what they actually wanted to.
