Dr. Andrews, sponser of the Library Advisory Board, posed for a picture

This year, the MHS media center is changing thanks to help from Dr. Andrews, the new library and media-center specialist. She is bringing new ideas, activities, and more ways for students to get involved.

One of the first things Dr. Andrews created was the Library Advisory Board. She started it at the beginning of the school year. Andrews said, “When I started this job, I knew it was something I wanted to do and start.”  She created it along with Mr. Courson at the beginning of the school year.

The Advisory Board has real world volunteer opportunities and it gives students experience that goes beyond the doors of MHS. It is also an amazing way to get involved with more extra-curricular activities. Dr. Andrews is also excited to keep improving the media center.

She wants to continue the work that Mrs. Wolter-Harris started, and ensure the space meets students’ needs. Andrews can’t wait to work with faculty and students to curate a space where everyone can do their best work. In addition, the Library Advisory Board has gotten a new instagram!
