As students at MHS start to prepare themselves mentally for final exams in late December, many students are feeling good with a slight side of anxiety.

Sophomore Makayla Ater now knows how to prepare herself for exams after taking them for the first time last year. “I have prepared myself so much better for finals by paying attention in all my classes and grabbing extra work to learn more and be prepared.”

Ater then gave advice to freshman who might not know how to study for the exams, saying, “Do not rush your studying! Make sure you are taking your time to understand each topic. Flash cards really helped me in all my classes and are a great source of study. As long as you take your time with your studying, you will do great!”

According to senior Mady Melton, she won’t miss any particular final. “I will definitely feel a sense of relief after this semester, knowing that I have finished my last high school Spanish final. Spanish is one of my hardest classes every year, so I have to devote the most time when preparing for the final exam.”

However, Melton also feels that taking her last final exams brings a “bittersweet feeling.” She said, “I will feel relieved when they are over with, while also being sad because that means I’m one step closer to graduation.”

Overall, students at MHS are feeling very confident going into exams December 17-19, and are ready to get them over with and start Christmas Break!
