The new ACT prep homerooms are helping students focus on getting ready to take the ACT. 

According to junior Vivienne Bullwinkle, the homerooms could really work if students take them seriously. She said, “If you’re paying attention, you’ll most likely get a better score.” She also mentioned that two days of prep is enough since students already have clubs, teachers to visit, and homework to do. 

Bullwinkle thinks the school started these homerooms to raise scores, but also believes that all underclassmen should get to join so they can be ready when it’s their turn too. 

Junior Suzy Nichols agreed that the ACT homerooms will help everyone. She said, “They also are giving us pointers on what to look for, and how to spend our time.” Nichols agreed with Bullwinkle on the appropriate amount of days for prep because everyone has busy schedules. 

Nichols mentioned that it’s necessary to maintain the good image of the school, but it also helps the students who don’t care what their score will be. The prep homerooms require practice testing for all, not just select students. If someone never wanted to study, but instead wanted to go into the test without a care, they’ll at least have gained some knowledge from the help of their teachers. 

Overall, both Bullwinkle and Nichols believe that the ACT prep homerooms can really make a difference if everyone takes them seriously.
