On September 12th, the MHS Football Team headed to Rantoul for a week three matchup. After a disappointing loss to Unity the week prior, with a score of 34-7, the Sages were excited and ready to bounce back.
The boys were especially pumped about this season. “Being able to play on the field with my friends is the best thing…I feel great and I feel like we have improved and tuned a lot of things up,” said junior wide receiver Zeke Young.
Junior Jake Motsegood shared similar feelings, “You’re with the same people, sweating everyday, but it helps you get along with people you don’t usually hang out with.”
Success is not the only thing that matters in football, it’s also the time you take to prepare for each game. “I’m going to watch a lot of film, as well as practice hard all week,” said Motsegood.
Some people have similar expectations for their upcoming football game. “I feel great about this game against Rantoul, [even] though last week didn’t go as planned,” stated Young. “I think this will be a good game for us to execute,” said Motsegood.
The team’s preparation for this year has been good, and everyone is excited to play. This will not only help them in the long run, but will also make memories that last forever.
