In a blink of an eye, it’s that time of year again. The halls will not feel the same, some of the faces that have been a staple will no longer be seen walking to class. The seniors have taken their final walk through the halls and graduation is upon MHS.

As the seniors prepare to say goodbye to MHS, senior Kali Jo Wright offers this advice to the underclassmen, “As an upperclassman, I would tell the underclassmen to not take everything so seriously. If you want to break some rules, who cares, you only live once. Sometimes you don’t know the value of the moment until it’s a memory.”

It has been a crazy few days at MHS. Scholarships and end of the year awards were given, the seniors took their final walk through the halls, a time machine video was created with the kindergarteners, graduation practice and Carnival Day all happened in anticipation of the big day. When senior Cody Ball was asked what she will miss most about MHS, she replied, “I’m gonna miss all the teachers who have made an impact on my life and seeing the kids I’ve gone to school with all these years grow up.”

The senior class of 2025 has had many accomplishments in all areas of high school life. In athletics, they took a football team to the state final and won many conference and regional championships. They raised money, kissed goats, won band competitions, put on many plays and concerts, helped run a preschool, held ag days just to name a few other accomplishments. They have learned countless things from the administration, teachers, coaches, and friends.  The memories they have and share will be carried with them always. Ball’s favorite memory was the day she found out she was elected as a lifesavers senior leader. “It’s been a great time making an impact on the younger students and it was definitely a confidence boost,” she shared.

It is hard to say what the most important memories or take aways from the 130 graduating seniors will be. However, it is certain that each graduate will have many to share over the years. Wright shared one that she will hold close. She said, “I’m gonna miss the Friday Night lights and how everyone from our school came together to feel like one big family! The feeling of being excited for the game content with everyone around is incredible.”

As each of the seniors reflect on their classes at MHS, Ball reflected back on her favorite class, “I really enjoyed parenting with Mrs. McCleary. I truly learned a lot and had a great time interacting with the kids.” Each one of the seniors is about to begin a new chapter in their lives.s they look forward to the next page with excitement and new challenges, they will always share the bond of MHS. Wright looks forward to after high school. She shared, “I’m excited to go into a new chapter of life in college and meet new people and create a new education for myself. I can’t wait to find out more about myself and what I want for my career in life.”

It is hard to imagine the halls of Monticello High School without our senior friends. The seniors have had a huge impact on our school and our lives. We will cherish all of our good times and memories, and take away all of the lessons we have learned from them.
