With the Monticello High School 2025 graduation ceremony quickly approaching, the seniors are gaining excitement. Although there is still several weeks left in the school year, seniors are experiencing a hardcore case of senioritis. This intense illness includes lack of energy, pre-summer exhilaration, and future college or post high school eagerness.

Senior Kali Wright stated her experience with senioritis, “Sadly, I have fallen victim to senioritis. The lack of energy I have for my schoolwork is no longer a joke. I try my hardest to remind myself there’s only a few more days and to push through the workload!” Furthermore, Senior Kinsley Neighbors adds onto Wright’s feelings of senioritis by stating, “Yes, I have senioritis. The busy work we are doing is pointless and since I have already been accepted to a college, and have my future plans laid out, I am exhausted and don’t see the point of high school.”

The senior class of 2025 is excited for their upcoming graduation. Wright states, “I can’t wait to see everyone I’ve gone to school with for my whole life finally achieve the goal of graduating, that we’ve always looked forward to. I’m excited to have our last day of fun at carnival day along with making sure I get a chance to hang out with people who are leaving at the end of the summer to go create new friends and memories!”

With the senior’s time at MHS ending shortly, they can all look back and reflect on the fun memories they made during their senior year. Neighbors states, “So far, my favorite memory of senior year was the Orange Out [basketball] games and being able to give a speech about the St. Jude run during [the Orange Out assembly in] homeroom.” Wright shares, “My favorite memory of senior year was at the Unity Football game. Not only because the boys played their hardest and won, but because I knew I got the chance to cheer one more time with the girls that had become family.”

Along with Wright and Neighbors, the rest of the senior class at Monticello High School is filled with eagerness to graduate. Many have plans of going to college, the military, trade schools, and/or other areas of work. Be sure to make the most of your high school experience because it really does fly by!
