The numerous Lifesaver volunteers who organized and ran the dance.

The Daddy Daughter Dance is a cherished tradition that brings fathers and daughters together for a night of fun, laughter, bonding, and dancing. This goes on every year and is planned by a volunteer committee of Lifesavers .

The planning starts about six weeks in advance, allowing sufficient time for everyone to add it to their calendars. The committee decides how the funds will be allocated, typically basing these choices off what the girls at the dance will also like. “It’s fun to see the bonding time between daughters and fathers,” said sophomore Vivienne Bullwinkle.

Decoration is crucial, with a theme dictating table decorations, balloon colors, and even a mural for the photo backdrop. “Everything ties into the theme,” noted Mrs. Malone—the sponsor of Lifesavers. This attention to detail transforms the venue into a magical place for the dance.

Sophomore Emily Grabarczyk was happy to volunteer as she loves seeing the little girls dressed up, while Bullwinkle’s favorite part is “serving the snacks.” These moments contribute to the overall atmosphere of the event.

Many have enjoyed being part of the DDD committee for multiple years, returning because of the joy it brings. “Watching the girls dance in their dresses is my favorite part,” stated Grabarczyk. Bullwinkle added, “It’s cute to see the girls with their fathers.” Both Grabarczyk and Bullwinkle expressed their enjoyment of the experience. The little girl’s enthusiasm is infectious and highlights the joy that the event brings to families.

Both Grabarczyk and Bullwinkle agree that every girl should have the opportunity to attend the DDD. This not only strengthens the bond between fathers and their daughters but also creates lasting memories for everyone involved.
