FFA is back at it again! For the past few weeks, FFA has been taking orders from students to create a beautiful bouquets for their special someones in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Ag teacher Mrs. Rost said, “Two years ago the Boka Shoppe was closed on Valentine’s Day so we had a big community sale, last year we didn’t do anything. So I had student’s request this year that we do Valentine’s Day flowers. So my two horticulture students brainstormed ideas. They decided to do teacher designs and sell mini bouquets for ten dollars for their peers.”
Knowing the Boka Shoppe was closed on Valentine’s Day, the Ag students and FFA members stepped up and fulfilled the students’ hopes in putting together a small bouquet shop in the Ag classroom.
This gesture really excited the students, who are hoping the tradition would continue on in future years.
Junior Shane Carr said, “I hope that in the next coming years there is even more participation, and it continues to draw attention to a bigger and bigger audience.”
FFA offers an opportunity to get involved with the community and to help fellow classmates. They hope that these bouquets have a positive impact on the student body, while they gain some practical Ag business experience.
