Youth Alive is a student-led Christian club that was started here at MHS this year by Taylor Mabry. The original founders of this club and creators are Billy and Katy Willis. They will be coming to speak at MHS on February 24th.

This married couple started Youth Alive together with a goal of giving students fellowship and bringing teenagers closer to Christianity. “On February 24th, Billy and Katy Willis are coming to speak at the [Youth Alive] club! They are going to talk about the importance of spreading the gospel in the public school setting. They will bring merch, $20 for shirts and $30 for sweatshirts. There will also be a chance to win merch in a raffle, and there will be strawberry matcha cupcakes!” Mabry explained.

Many feel this event will help the Youth Alive club grow and will benefit our school. Addison Dorjahn shared that she “[felt] that them coming will impact the club by drawing more people to the meeting…. hearing the speaker’s input will bring new life to the club and it will be an exciting opportunity for all those who want to attend to get further spiritual insight.”

Dorjahn and Mabry both shared how excited they both are for this big opportunity for the club, and how much attention this will draw to the club.

Mabry is very invested in the Youth Alive club, making sure it takes off. She’s the reason this opportunity is possible. She said, “I had been wanting the founders of Youth Alive to come and speak at the club. I talked with Billy and Katy at the momentum youth conference event in Naperville in November. They agreed to come and bring merch.”

Youth Alive has had a powerful impact on many people’s lives. For example, Dorjahn stated, “I look forward to coming to the Youth Alive club every week. I like how it is a non-judgemental space where I am surrounded by people all with the same views. The club has affected me by making me draw more attention toward my spiritual life during the week, which has been good for me.”

On Monday, February 24th in Senora Emilie Walk’s classroom Billy and Katy Willis will come and speak in the Youth Alive club meeting. Come on down, share, buy merch,  make a friend,  and get a sweet treat!
