As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, fans in the community are gearing up for the big game with excitement and anticipation. I reached out to a few football enthusiasts to get their thoughts and predictions on the upcoming game.
When asked about their Super Bowl Sunday plans, sophomore Colton Shubert shared, “I’m watching the game with my family and possibly friends.“ Similarly, senior Braxton Tharp said, “I will be doing the same thing as most of America; I will be sitting in the living room watching the Super Bowl with my family!” Sophomore Matthias Rudolph mentioned he planned to start his day with some football coverage before heading to the store to get snacks for the game.
The big question on everyone’s mind is: who do they want to win, and who do they think will win? Shubert expressed his desire for the Eagles to win, despite his belief that the Chiefs will likely win because “it’s rigged.” Tharp shared similar feelings when he said, “Deep down I want the Eagles to win because I am tired of the Chiefs winning, but I think that the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl.” Rudolph also wants the Eagles to win, but he thinks the Chiefs will ultimately come out on top.
The Chiefs presence in The Super Bowl for the third year has sparked mixed feelings. Shubert is not impressed. He stated, “I think that they get bailed out constantly and are frauds.” Tharp finds it remarkable. He shared, “I think it’s crazy that the Chiefs have the chance to break history if they win the Super Bowl; they will have won the Super Bowl 3 years in a row!” Rudolph recognizes the team’s ability to perform under pressure but also hopes to see other teams experience similar success.
As the countdown to the Super Bowl continues, fans are eagerly waiting for the final showdown to see if their predictions hold true. Whether you’re rooting for the Eagles, Chiefs, or you’re just happy to see Taylor Swift, Super Bowl Sunday promises to be an exciting event for football fans everywhere.
