Finishing the season strong

As the High School Girls Basketball team reaches a little more than halfway, the energy and excitement is apparent. The team has shown great chemistry and high efforts throughout the whole season.

Senior Lucy Leatherwood said, “I feel like the team is doing really well. We work really well together and have a lot of chemistry!” Going off that, Senior Pearl Glaze added, “I feel like my teammates give me a lot of support. We are a close knit team with no drama, so I feel a lot of love from them.”

Throughout the season, so many people show their support; the community, families, and the coaching staff. For freshman Macie Owen, her dad has always been her biggest supporter. “He always keeps me engaged and gives me good advice. He pushes me to always do the best I can and it has helped me so much throughout the years.” Leatherwood added, “I feel like Coach Clapp gives me the most support on the staff. My teammates give me the most support on and off the court.”

As the season slowly starts to close, many goals for the girls are arising. Glaze stated, “I hope we can make it farther in the postseason than usual and I want to keep the positive energy we have going.” Regarding postseason and regionals, Leatherwood added, “My goals this season are to win the Regional Championship and win the remainder of the games.”

Owen had a different approach, she said, “I want to end the season stronger than I started it, and be a player that the coaches can count on to get the job done whenever they need me.”

The Girls take on Pawnee Thursday the 30th, be there and come support!
