Freshmen Emily Matthews, Sloan Blickenstaff, Dustin McCleary, and Aiden Komnick talked about how their first week of adjusting from middle school to high school was, including their favorite classes, and what their favorite thing was so far.

The most favorite class by this freshman group is FACS class. Both Komnick and Matthews expressed that they like it because “it is a fun class that is also laid back.”

Their least favorite classes are Spanish and science classes. Blickenstaff and Matthews both said science is not their favorite because it is hard to understand. Komnick and McCleary both said, “Learning a different language is hard especially when the teachers are already talking in Spanish almost the entire time.”

Adjusting to the block schedule has been harder for some more than others. Matthews and Blickenstaff said it was easy to adjust and they feel that it makes the day go by faster having the block schedule. McCleary and Komnick, on the other hand, said, “It’s hard remembering what classes you have on certain days.”

Matthew’s favorite thing was meeting all the teachers and seeing what their classes were like. Blickenstaff likes the freedom she gets with her schedule, allowing her to work at a better pace. McCleary enjoys hanging out with his friends and getting the high school experience. Komnick likes his A day schedule because it has his favorite classes.
