As summer wraps up and school is kicking into full gear, students are talking about their amazing summers, where they went, and what they did. Some were lucky enough to take trips across the country, while others stayed in the United States and visited the beautiful Florida beaches.

Over the summer, junior Emma Juvinall went to Mexico for a week. She stated, “I went to Tulum, Mexico at [the] Tulum Dreams resort. The entertainment staff at the resort was awesome, whether it was playing beach volleyball with guests or even just teaching people how to make a tortilla. I went kayaking with my brother in the ocean, and it was definitely one of my favorite activities. This was my second time going to this resort, and I definitely want to go back for a third.”
Freshman Grace Weidner got to explore Rome and the Amalfi Coast. “This summer in mid-July, I went to see many famous structures and landmarks in Rome, including the Colosseum and the Trevy fountain. I had a bunch of fun, but the downside was the heat, and it got tiring due to the fact we walked almost everywhere. I would definitely go back but instead spend more time on the Amalfi Coast.”

Sophomore Zeke Young sat back and relaxed on the beaches of Perdido Key, Florida. “One of my favorite activities was catching ghost crabs at night on the beach, but they were super hard to catch because they were so fast. Each family member got to bring some with them, so I really enjoyed that. I tried the restaurant Jellyfish, and it was my favorite because of how good the sushi was. I would love to go back, especially to Pensacola Beach because of the huge waves.”
Now that summer is officially at an end, students are back in full force. They can’t wait for the great school year to come, but they are already looking forward to the beginning of next summer.
