Wrestling

Over winter break, Sages Wrestling traveled to Abe’s Rumbling Wrestling Invite at the Bank of Springfield Center. The team finished 27th out of 60 teams. The Sages also traveled to the Lyle King Princeton Invitational, where Junior Hunter Romano finished 4th, Freshman Zeke Young 6th, and Senior Brandon Peters 7th. The Sages travel to Unity for conference duals 1/12 and 1/13 this week. 

Boys Basketball

Boys basketball had a busy winter break as they hosted the 26th annual Holiday Hoopla. The Sages had wins over Neoga 64-26 and Ridgeview 64-24 and a loss to Clinton 56-59 in pool play before securing 3rd place in the tournament with a win over Oakwood 54-31. They rounded out winter break with a loss to Teutopolis 44-57. After returning to school, the sages recorded wins over IVC 77-64 and New Berlin 57-26. This week, the Sages are home vs. Clinton 1/9 and away vs. BCC 1/12.

Girls Basketball

Girls basketball also hosted the Holiday Hoopla over winter break, where they went 1-2 in pool play with a win over Clinton 49-42 and losses to Neoga 36-54 and Ridgeview 32-40. They finished the tournament in () with a win over PBL 45-30. They rounded out winter break with a win over Hoopeston 40-34 and a loss to BCC 37-71. This week, the Sages are away vs. Danville 1/8, away vs. PBL 1/11, and home vs. Maroa-Forsyth 1/13.
