With Christmas Break right around the corner, students are ready for school to be done for 2023.
Seniors are especially ready for this Christmas Break since it will be the last time they take high school finals. Senior Sylvie Harvey shared her feelings about these upcoming weeks and said, “I’m super excited because these are my last finals I’ll take for high school. But it’s also challenging because I’m excited for it to be break, so it’s hard to stay focused and finish the semester out strong. Knowing that I am halfway done with my last year of high school is also crazy to think about.”
Some students also take Parkland classes, which have an effect on them going into break. Harvey added, “Since I’m at Parkland, I’m on their schedule, so our break started last week. It’s been really nice because now I can sleep in, and I only have to show up for my last two classes everyday. It has given me a feel for what my schedule will be like next year when I’m in college.”
Breaks are very important for students. Senior Max Scheffer explained how important they really are, “I think breaks are important for the students because they get to spend time with their family and connect with friends. The time away from school also helps students get in the right mindset to come back after break and finish out the school year on a good note.”
Have a holly jolly Christmas!
