For many years, the Sages football team has had great seasons ending in playoff eligibility, with the 2018 team having an extraordinary run that resulted in them becoming state champions.
The 2023 Sages football team is currently 4-3, which isn’t the type of record teams in the past have had at this point. They will have to battle hard in these next two games and prove themselves worthy of a playoff spot.
“I think that our practice habits are getting better and we are more focused on the goal to make it to the postseason and show people who we really are,” said senior captain Charlie Moore.
Practice plays a huge role in success, so the Sages need to practice the best they can for these upcoming games. “I think that there are rough patches we are getting through, and we’re focusing day to day on self improvement which makes things better as a whole,” added Moore.
Improving as individuals is just as important as improving as a team, so hopefully the Sages work really hard in order to overcome their obstacles.
Junior wide receiver Carter Foran said, “I think the football team needs to stay true to ourselves and work hard for the next two weeks. I think if we work hard and have the right mentality, these next two weeks could be successful. The outcome will depend on what we put into it.”
Do the Sages have what it takes?
