Sports Update 9/24-9/30

Volleyball

Sages Volleyball went 3-0 last week with wins vs. Arthur (25-18, 25-18), vs. Unity (19-25, 25-23, 25-19), and vs. Pontiac (25-18, 23-25, 25-23). Volleyball is now 16-4 and 4-0 in conference. This week’s games are conference clashes vs. St. Joseph-Ogden away on 10/3 and vs. BCC at home on 10/5.

Boys Soccer

Boys Soccer went 2-1 last week with wins vs. St Thomas More (8-4) and IVC (4-2), and a loss vs. Pleasant Plains (4-1). This week’s games are vs. Cornerstone Christian away on 10/2, vs. St. Joesph-Ogden away on 10/3, and Senior Night vs. Judah Christian at home on 10/5.

Girls Golf

Girls Golf last week won their duel at home vs. Leroy. The Sages shot 198, Macey Printy took first place with a 40, and Megan Allen took second place with a 44. The Sages then traveled to IHSA Regionals at  Harrison Park Golf Course, where the team advanced to sectionals by placing third with a 391. This week’s match is IHSA Sectional at Lakeshore Golf Course on 10/2.

Boys Golf

Boys Golf won their triangular at home last week with a 155 overall, and Maddux Quick took first place. The Sages then traveled to IHSA Regionals at the University of Illinois Golf Course, where the team advanced to sectionals by placing third with a 316. This week’s match is IHSA Sectional at Kellogg Golf Course on 10/2.

Cross Country

Cross Country celebrated lone senior Issac Gardner last week with a small home meet on Saturday. This week Cross Country travels to the Illini Prarie Conference meet on 10/3.

Football

Sages Football capped off a successful homecoming week in sports with a win vs. Rantoul 63-12. The Sages are now fourth in the conference and 4-2 overall. This week’s game is away at PBL on 10/6.
