Homecoming 2023 has been all the rage in the Monticello High School.

“Preparing for homecoming is a pretty stressful time, especially if you are a procrastinator. You have to be cautious about so many things. You have to make sure you don’t have the same dress as someone else, you have to find a group to go with, you have to make tons of plans. It is usually worth it in the end, but super anxiety inducing,” stated junior Tatum Wichus.

Now with a dance comes a date. Signs seemed to be the go to Homecoming proposal for most students this year! Girls received flowers, creatively crafted signs, and big bright smiles from the guys.

“He [my date] showed up to my house with flowers, candy, and a sign!” exclaimed sophomore Lauren Albrehtt.

“I made a poster and asked in front of literally the entire world. It was super scary, and there were a lot of people staring at me. I didn’t really want everyone looking at me like that, but it was great,” said Brady Ball.

Homecoming is a new experience for the class of 2027! The freshmen have never experienced such an event and many nerves and excitement has been bustling all around.

“I am excited to see everyone in their dresses and see what they chose,” exclaimed freshmen Claire Foster.
