The Madrigal season has officially started, and the singers are very excited for this upcoming holiday season.
Sophomore Lilly Bradley is “very excited about the madrigal dinners…the madrigals themselves have worked all season on what are, in my opinion, very challenging pieces. I know that these dinners are going to be truly stunning performances.”
This year Mrs. Shaw has selected more difficult pieces than she has in the past, and while it has been a challenge, the Madrigals know all of their music.
This year there is a completely new set of actors for the Madrigal dinners with the King and Queen being played by seniors Katie Mesplay and Jacob Elston, and the Jester and Wench by sophomore Knittle and senior Riley Kurth.
Elston is “looking forward to the night of the dinner because I think it will be very cool to see it all come together.”
The Madrigal season can also be a little sad; for the seniors, this will be there last year performing at the Madrigal dinners. Senior Estella Miller is “sad about it. I know I will never find such a group like it again. Being in Madrigals is really unique because you are surrounded by people that all want to do an amazing show.”
Reservations for Madrigal dinners can be made through this link. Don’t miss out on this cherished holiday tradition.
