2022 MHS Cheer Team had so many participants that cheer coach Kara Hettinger decided to make a JV and V team.
When asked about her thoughts on the new JV and V teams, coach Hettinger had nothing but good things to say. “I am glad we got to expand the program. This is very exciting.” She then adds that there are some kinks they still need to work out to be even better for next year. Even with a few rocks in the road, coach Hettinger has a great appreciation and love for her new coming JV squad. “Without the JV squad I couldn’t have had as many cheerleaders this year. I would definitely do this again.”
It has given me a chance to meet new people instead of the usual 12 person squad.
Kali Wright, Varsity Cheerleader
Kinsley Neighbors and Kali Wright, Varsity members, talk about their experience so far this year with the new adjustments. The girls have said they enjoy the two teams together and there is very little to no drama within the squad. “It has given me a chance to meet new people instead of the usual 12 person squad.” said Wright
Wright and Neighbors both expressed that they enjoyed this year so much that they’d repeat it, “100%. I would definitely do it again. Especially because it gives the Freshman and Sophomores more experience whenever they get up to Junior and Senior year.”
