Monticello is the home of many unique small businesses, but with the closing of FroYo Factory and Cafe, the options for getting a coffee in town became more limited. As a result, a new business was created, and the 3R2 coffee shop on the square has been booming ever since they opened their doors on June 15.

“It looked very cute from the inside, and I really love coffee, so I decided to go in and try it.”

Vanya Zuniga, Customer

As a small business, it’s hard to achieve success, but not for 3R2. High school employee, junior Kendall Eades shared her experience saying, “The coffee shop being busy and flowing all the time makes me so happy.” Kendall also stated, “When I’m working, the business pushes me, obviously considering that I’m a teenager, but in the best way.”

Having great managers may be a big reason for the coffee shop’s success. Eades talked about her amazing bosses. “I have the best bosses ever, shoutout to Marie and James Chandler, and also Beth and Brandon Taylor.  I have got to work really close with Marie and sometimes James. We just share our love for the community together while giving people drinks and treats they love.”

For having such good success, 3R2 Square must have quality staff members. Junior Charlie Johnson commented about how long it took him to get the hang of working there. Charlie said, “I still mess up sometimes, but It probably took me about a week or so to really learn and remember how to do everything.” As a customer that goes regularly, Vanya Zuniga shared her experience on what drew her to the coffee shop. “It looked very cute from the inside, and I really love coffee, so I decided to go in and try it.”  Zuniga also complemented the workers’ treatment of their customers. “They treat customers very well; they are sweet and always welcoming.”
