On Friday, April 22, Monticello High School Business Club students will be traveling to Lakeland College in Mattoon, IL to compete in a business competition with other Illinois high schools.

The competition is made up of six tests. Each student is assigned to one test: General Business, Accounting, IT, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Monticello is bringing seven seniors to compete in the competition.

The lineup for the competition is: Jackson Grambart for General Gusiness, Dylan Ginalick for Accounting, Ed Mitchell for IT, Peyton Scott for Microsoft Word, Raegan Yeager for Microsoft Powerpoint, Joey Sprinkle for Microsoft Excel, and Trevor Fox as an alternate.

Senior Jackson Grambart expressed, “I love our team for this competition. We are very well equipped for each test, and I feel we can get a top ten finish in the competition.”

Business Cub Sponsor Andrew Webb has even given out study guides for the students that are competing in order for them to study and get themselves prepared for the competition. Senior Ed Mitchell said, “The study book has really helped me out and has prepared me for the competition so I can compete to the best of my ability.”

The Business Club is obviously taking the competition pretty seriously, with all its participants locked in and studying up. They are grinding now in hopes of bringing home the first-place prize of new airpods.
